Interlude: The 3rd CR
“There should be rest rooms exclusive for gays.” It’s 8 o’clock in the morning and I am hearing this from no other than the “Mo Twister”. Although I don’t have much proclivity towards this personality because of his unrelenting chauvinistic sensibilities, his silly ideas always trigger some neuron in my brain.
The DJ was again complaining about the disturbing behavior of some homosexuals in men’s room. He said that homosexuals have tendencies of making sexual advances inside public urinals and he backed it up with an experiment that they did in Shangrila Mall together with his co-DJ, “Mojo Jojo”, who is a self-confessed homosexual.
During the entire time slot, the program entertained callers from both sexual orientations. Some would agree with the Mo while some disagree. There was a vehement protest from Mojo of course. He said that not all gays would do such a thing and creating a CR for gays would only spell discrimination.
Mo however reiterated that it is not discrimination but only to give due respect to the male heteros who want to deal their nature call without the distracting presence of homosexuals on their sides. “How could it be called comfort room if we are not comfortable at all?” One of the callers said.
That was Monday’s edition of the program and coincidentally a fellow blogger, Jamie, have heard it too and immediately posted an entry about the topic. Jamie made a very valid remark suggesting a domino effect if Mo’s suggestion would be considered.
There are a lot of times that someone (homo or hetero is insignificant) beside me would take a peek at what I am holding with my hand when peeing. Sometimes it would interrupt the flow and it’s quite difficult to continue. Most of the times, I would just ignore them and focus on what I am doing. Am I infuriated with the behavior? Surprisingly, just a little bit.
My friends call me exhibitionist. That’s perfectly true not in the psychosexual sense but the au naturel sense. I think there is really nothing to be ashamed of our nudity or of what we are hiding underneath. We may come in different colors and sizes but the thing is we possess what others possess. We are only embarrassed because we were conditioned by our culture to feel that way.
So what is the main reason why Mo and his fellows like to segregate homosexuals from “their” restrooms? Is it really respect and comfort? Probably yes, but what is this respect and comfort rooted from? I guess it is rooted from the insecurity, conscious or subconscious, of discovering that others are superior to them.
The 3rd CR is not a solution to the so-called disturbing behavior of some homosexual men. It would only add insult to the injury and further the battle of the “gender”. It would further breed prejudice and discrimination to the “few”. It is sad but it is a fact that insecurity of ones nakedness has become a mental condition of the social system and it is very difficult to relearn what is by nature.
So far, tolerance and sensibilities are still the best remedy to such improprieties until humans are still evolving and learning to become mature members of the society.

insecurity lang yan!
and besides having a 3rd cr is not economic!
i think it digs deeper than being conscious and discomforts or what have you, it is more of an irrational fear. yes, i am about to say homophobia again.
actually i just notice that if you'll try to go inside a men's cr and a gay came in, they are more uncomfortable than most men are inside the room. they avoid using the wall urinal and would really wait for the room cubicle to be available.
tama din si odin, sometimes insecurity brings about that discomfort... hahaha!
nice post. lagi mo akong pinag iisip!
Nagsasalamin.
Ninakaw kasi yung salamin dun sa bathroom namin. Ahahaha.
gaya ng 3rd sex, the 3rd cr does not exist.
Yeah, having a third CR is not economic. Besides, puede naman tayo gumamit sa men's or women's CR. Lol
And I think ayaw ni Mo makasalamuha ang mga gays kasi takot siyang masilipan at ma-reveal na his junior, like his height, is 'petite' too. Bwahahaha
have a great day....
@odin, tama ka diyan. its not econmically viable. at sabi nga ni mugen wala ding gagamit diyan. sinu ba naman ang gusto na ma-label? hehehe
@wanderer, i'll tell u. dalawa lang ang explanation kung bakit di comfortable ang mga lalake na masilipan, it's either na maliit ang kanila o di kaya mahinhin o dalagang pilipina sila. :)
@boying. wow ang lalim niyan. pero i do agree with the first statement. hehehe
@ice. dalawang rason lang kung bakit kita na delete sa aking links. either u have not updated for a long time or u did not link me back. :)
ngee
nag update me araw araw kaso di me naka visit sayu kasi sobra busy nag overtime me sa work araw araw di me makapag blog hop kasi puyat.. na link kita "just for the trip"
I don't really care if they put up a third john for people like me. For as long as there is a urinal to relieve me, I'll use it.
Besides, I never fail to impress the person next to me while I'm taking a leak, straight, gay or whatchamacallit.
All of their eyes widen at the sight of my enormous tool...which is actually another term for my ego. Hehehe! Nice post!
well most of my experiences are appreciative like nice dick! how cute! nice head eh! hahahaha
having a 3rd john is not discriminating but acknowledging that we exist...
True not all gays make sexual advances in public restrooms but lets face it, MOST OF US DO...but hey! there are a lot of benefits on having a 3rd john like uhh, sex cubicle and hmm..glory hole area where you can pee and get serviced hehehehe.
Then again, who would want to go inside a 3rd john? it means your outing yourself hehehehe...
very, very, well written, trip! i cant say anything anymore. you milked the topic dry of arguments to the contrary. hehehe. thank you :)
